Extra Help with Prescription Costs

What Medications Cost?

Our Pharmacy Benefit Information system is a live, web-based tool where you can research prescription medications, and how much they cost.

If you qualify for extra help with your Medicare prescription drug coverage costs, Medicare may cover all or some portion of your prescription drug costs.

In certain cases, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) systems do not reflect a beneficiaries correct low-income subsidy (LIS) status at a particular point. To address these situations, CMS has created the best available evidence (BAE) policy that requires plans to accept appropriate documentation as evidence of establishing the accurate level of cost sharing the member should be paying.

LOW INCOME SUBSIDY (LIS) PROGRAM

A Federal program run through the Social Security department, also known as "Extra Help" (as explained above), to provide premium and copayment assistance for those who meet certain income and asset guidelines. This document lists plan premiums for those receiving extra help through the LIS subsidy. If you qualify, your premium will generally be lower once you receive extra help.
