STAY PHYSICALLY ACTIVE WHILE SOCIAL DISTANCING

Physical activity is beneficial to our health — it helps lower blood pleasure, improves mood and energy levels, and helps us sleep better. There are countless advantages and statistics to prove the benefits of exercising. However, it just takes doing it regularly to experience first-hand how much better we can feel.

Whether you’re staying at home or practicing social distancing outdoors, here are some ideas to stay active:

The CDC recommends that adults get 150

minutes a week of moderate intensity

activity – that’s less than 25 minutes daily!

Indoors:

  • Catch up on household chores, such as cleaning out a closet.
  • Do some deep cleaning at home, like vacuuming.
  • Walk briskly in place while you watch your favorite show.
  • Dance along to music videos.
  • Use light weights to keep your muscles strong.
  • Work out on an indoor bike, treadmill or elliptical.

Outdoors:

  • Go for a brisk walk.
  • Go swimming.
  • Do aerobic exercises in water, like jumping jacks.
  • Take a bike ride.
  • Practice yoga or Pilates at a park.
  • Jog or run around the block or at a park.

Include some of these activities to your daily routine and start burning calories, strengthening your bones and muscles and improving your mobility. Click here for more ideas and information on the benefits of staying physically active.
